As Telegram continues to grow , so do the costs of running its service. Until now, expenses have always been covered by investments from the company's founder, but now the platform is looking to monetize the costs.

But how will Telegram ads work ?
The company itself said that users will not see ad breaks inside private conversations or groups, as the platform will only allow advertisers to place ads on public channels with more than 1,000 subscribers . Additionally, ads are limited to 160 characters.
