Instagram: How to send a disappearing picture or video in a direct message

Did you know that on Instagram you can send pictures and videos via direct messages that disappear after the recipient views them?

Today, in this guide, you will learn how to do this, and although the screenshots were taken on iOS, the process is very different on Android.

Click on the camera icon next to the picture and name of the person you want to send a disappearing message to.

View Once – the recipient (or multiple recipients) will only be able to see the image or video once before it disappears forever

Allow Replay – an image or video can be viewed a maximum of two times before it disappears forever

Keep in Chat – the image or video will not disappear
