ABS Roni, Sharsha (Jashore) District Correspondent; Jessore DB Police has filed a sabotage case against Sharsha Upazila BNP General Secretary Abul Hasan Zahir, District Chhatra Dal President Rajidur Rahman Sagar and General Secretary Kamruzzaman Bappi, Sharsha Upazila Jubo Dal General Secretary Ruhul Kuddus Kota, Sharsha Thana BNP former Publicity Secretary Saidul Islam, Sharsha Thana Chhatra Dal President Mostafizzjoha Selim, General Secretary Salah Uddin and (24) leaders and workers of BNP and Chhatra Dal at the district and upazila levels on charges of carrying out sabotage activities in the Bara Bazar area of Jessore.
DB police said they have arrested 7 leaders and activists c level contact list of BNP and Chhatra Dal along with 12 fresh hand grenades from the scene. The arrested are: 01 Masud Kaiser Isti, son of Abdul Halim of Jessore's Mollapara area; 02 Tarikuzzaman Lipon, son of deceased Elahira of Jessore's Chaniatola area; 03 Abdul Halim, son of deceased Samsher Ali of Jessore's Sujalpur village; and 04 Shahjalal, son of Ali Biswas; 05 Sakawat Hossain, son of deceased Shahar Ali of Sharsha Kazirber village; 06 Shaon Sheikh, son of Mojibur Rahman of Benapole Bhaberber village; and 07 Rafiqul Islam, son of Ahmed Ali of Moniram Nadra village.
DB Police SI Murad Hossain said that on Tuesday, October 2 at 8 am, based on secret information, we came to know that BNP and Chhatra Dal leaders and workers were gathering in front of Manasa Bastralay in Jessore Baro Bazar ( H.M Road) to carry out sabotage activities. On such information, we conducted a raid there and arrested 7 people with 12 bombs, while the rest escaped. A case has been filed under the Bomb Explosives Act, mentioning the names of 24 people in the incident. He also said that the arrested accused were sent to Jessore Jail custody after the evening.
In this regard, Sharsha Upazila BNP General Secretary Hasan Zahir told the reporter, "I have been in Dhaka for the last three days seeking bail in another case. So how did I go to Jessore to carry out sabotage activities?" He also said that the police are constantly filing false cases in the names of opposition party leaders and activists.
