Dell Technologies introduces the free Cyber Resilience Assessment – a quick yet comprehensive business health check that indicates an organization’s ability to detect, respond to and recover from threats like ransomware.

Protecting your organization starts with protecting your data from ransomware and other sophisticated cyber threats. Regardless of industry, geographic location, or size, every organization, business, government, and even our individual lives today is data-driven.

Dell Technologies strives to build trust and a connected, secure world how to get usa phone number We understand that organizations of all sizes need intrinsic security to protect their entire digital life; this requires a holistic cyber resilience strategy that protects their technology environment and data in a way that enables the organization to achieve its objectives.

That’s why we’re launching a free Cyber Resilience Assessment – a quick but comprehensive health check on your organization’s ability to detect, respond to, and recover from cyber threats like ransomware. Based on your current assessment and score, we provide you with valuable insights from Enterprise Strategy Group , an IT analyst, research, validation, and strategy firm – practical steps from trusted experts to help you improve your cyber resilience.

We sat down with Christophe Bertrand , Senior ESG Analyst, to chat about cyber resilience and assessment. Here was our conversation.

Chhandomay: Hi, Christophe! Thanks for joining me today to talk about how Dell Technologies and ESG are working together to help organizations assess and improve their cyber resilience.

Before we get into the assessment, could you please provide us with some context and background from your perspective on the current cyber threat environment, such as ransomware?

Christophe: It's terrible for organizations, to be honest. In fact, new research from ESG shows that 18% of the 300+ organizations we surveyed are experiencing ransomware attacks on a daily basis, and 24% are experiencing ransomware attacks on a weekly basis.

Tell us more about what you're learning from your latest research.

This urgency of the threat and risks to organizations is consistent with what these same organizations tell us about what they are focusing their budget on. In a separate, larger survey, nearly half of organizations see strengthening cybersecurity as a business issue that drives technology spending.

With that backdrop, let’s talk about this new free cyber resilience assessment that Dell and ESG have developed together.

Through our research, conversations with thousands of business and IT leaders, and our work with solution providers like Dell, we recognized that it can be overwhelming for IT leaders to understand which areas to focus on first and which threats pose the greatest risk to their organizations.

We wanted to give everyone struggling on this journey to cyber resilience a place to start. Also for those who feel like they are prepared today, but perhaps there is an area they may not have thought of, and for everyone else who is in between both extremes.

That's why we encourage everyone to take five minutes of their time today to complete the assessment and receive their report. It's worth spending time on your company.

Can you tell us a little more about the Cyber Resilience Assessment and why you are considering it now?

In addition to rising ransomware threats and the frequency of attacks, ESG research shows that cybersecurity remains the most common area of IT skills shortages, with 48% of organizations reporting problematic skills shortages. That’s a dangerous combination of factors.

Together with Dell Cyber Resiliency experts, we designed the assessment and recommendations report to be concise and focused on what we believe are key areas of concern, specifically cyberattack detection, protection and recovery.

Could you give an example of how the assessment analyzes a threat and provides specific recommendations?

Of course, for example, our research has shown that cybercriminals are most often targeting backups, rendering them useless in a recovery scenario. 43% of people we spoke to are “very concerned” and 36% are “somewhat concerned” that their backup could be affected by malware or ransomware.

Our evaluation takes this into account with questions about recovery speed, but also the ability to recover data that is known good (in the sense that it is valid and uncompromised data) or free of compromise.

Once a visitor has completed their evaluation, what is the next step?

They receive an immediate peer-based score and three summary videos tailored specifically to their areas of risk or vulnerability in the areas we discuss. I encourage everyone to sign up to receive their full, personalized report with their detailed scores and more tailored ESG recommendations. These are actionable ESG recommendations along with resources and links to other information where users can learn more about how to improve their cyber resilience.

Thanks for joining me today. Any last words of wisdom?

Thanks to you too, Chhandomay, and the team at Dell Technologies! Take the free five-minute assessment , get your score, see where you stand, sign up for your full report, and start making progress on your cyber resilience journey today. This is an investment in your organization’s future. No organization is perfect when it comes to cyber resilience, and even if you feel prepared, cybercriminals will still target your organization. So take the next step right now!
