Nothing will impress the people around you and convince your boss of your abilities better than the fact that you are well prepared for a meeting. And while most people with no ambitions come to a meeting with nothing or maybe a small agenda, you will knock them off their feet with your equipment.
For the meeting, be sure to bring a laptop, a planner, a notebook, a few colorful pencils and markers, a pack of post-its, some clean printer paper, an XXL cup of coffee, a laptop and cell phone charger, and 3-4 USBs.
Before the meeting, write some notes in illegible ghana whatsapp list on a post-it (you can even make a shopping list, so no one will be able to read it) and stick it on your laptop monitor. It will make you look incredibly engaged, organized, and busy, which will impress your boss.
Spread everything out on the table, grab a pen, and hold your hand over the paper in a writing position. Once the meeting starts, you can draw, and no one will care what you're doing.
Convert all percentages to fractions
Even if you're in something creative and non-mathematical like marketing, you'll always impress people if you're confident with numbers. So when someone says that 25% of your website visits end up making a purchase, start nodding your head, casually chewing on your pencil, and say, "Hmmmm yeah...so one in four people...yeah, yeah, yeah...".
You don't even have to finish the sentence, people will be truly amazed by what
Follow the meeting
You demonstrate an enviable knowledge of advanced mathematics
You get extra points if you blurt out some statistic that has nothing to do with the truth, but no one knows it but you and it won't be verified by anyone. So try to blurt out information like this as often as possible.
Research has shown that as many as 68.7% of people leave a website after 10 seconds.
Did you know that 25% of the population wants to buy anything just because it has a bow?
Dr. Schatfelhoffer from Harvard conducted research for 40 years, confirming that 84% of people want a personalized approach in the sales process.
Take the initiative in a bombastic way
You know those moments in meetings where, strangely enough, no one is sleeping and after a while everyone is speaking in unison, raised voices ring out, tensions rise and you feel like you're in a zoo with no desire to participate or compete with the other animals? But what if someone sees that you're calm and everyone else is tense? They'll think you don't care!
So wait for the right moment and when the voices rise, get up from your chair, calmly start waving your hands and shout "People, people...let's go calmly!!! What are we even trying to solve? What is our biggest problem right now?"
And BOOM!!! You are the smartest person in the room, and the fact that you asked the key question makes it clear that the answer is not expected from you, but from others.
Ask "is it sustainable"
One of the best ways to come across as super smart in meetings, give off an interested impression, and prevent anyone from asking you a question is to preemptively ask a question that is absolutely pointless but sounds so good and serious that it will give everyone food for thought.
Whatever someone says, after that person finishes, you jump in with: "Yes, but...is that sustainable?" or "Great idea, but how sustainable is that system?".
Believe me when I tell you that people are most afraid of appearing stupid and no one will dare ask what kind of system you are talking about and why ordering a new coffee machine shouldn't be sustainable.
Start walking around the room.
Some meetings can get so long that a walk is the only thing that can keep you awake. But you've already used your wild card, and everyone knows you hate making phone calls anyway, so it's an excuse you can only use once per meeting. That's where a walk comes in.
They say you have to stand if you want to give the impression of superiority and make people respect you. So you stand up while someone is talking and start walking around the room. Make a circle around the table, tap someone on the shoulder, take a few deep breaths and run your hands through your hair, then lean against the wall, cross your arms and nod your head slightly.
Bring all the necessary equipment
