Email is dead. Who killed it?

Post by sohanuzzaman56 »

Gaby Castellanos titled her post yesterday with this (too?) blunt phrase . In an infographic that supports this assertion, you can read the 10 reasons why email is dead, the use of social media and networks and the number of users of each tool.

Three reasons to highlight:
– Emails are sent with “cc” and “reply all” to binance data people who do not need to be included, creating occupational spam
– Emails produce information overload
– All emails seem to have the same importance, requiring one to “guess” which one is relevant

And one more fact:
– On average, corporate users will receive and send 160 emails per day

Perhaps email is becoming less used in certain types of environments; other channels have appeared and communication through them has become more frequent and fluid . However, for those just starting out, Twitter presents an initial character limit (only 140 per tweet or message) and in messages via Facebook you cannot attach files (in the case that a document needs to be evaluated, or simply to send an invoice, for example).

Social networks and media have opened up new, faster and more dynamic forms of communication. But spam is still there, irrelevant messages written not by strangers but by people that the company or person has added as a contact, are still there, they are still generated. Social networks are gaining ground, although we must not forget that the process of change and adaptation towards the use of new tools by users takes time . And in that time, there will be those who choose "social", others who prefer email, and also those who use both.

What is your case: social, mail or mix ?
